Ntl/TELEWEST - PERSONAL INJURY
CLAIMS 28/09/06
Branches were notified in LTB 578/06
of the intent by NTL/Telewest to launch a Voluntary Release Programme.
The scheme has now closed and the
company has advised that with one or two cases still to be resolved all requests
have been granted.
A clause in the associated
documentation had been brought to the Union’s attention which sought to negate
any current personal accident injury claims against the company. This has been
taken up with the company and they have agreed that this is inappropriate and
for those members where there are claims a revised letter should be issued.
Branches are asked to bring this to
the attention of members so that they are aware, and that for those members with
personal injury claims they can seek an amended letter.
Negotiations between Ntl/Telewest and
their potential preferred regional suppliers continue; it is expected that these
discussions will conclude shortly, following which the company will engage on
the TUPE discussions.
